Representative Douglas Pickett
Douglas T. Pickett is a member of the Idaho House of Representatives, representing District 27A. He is affiliated with the Republican Party. He assumed office on December 1, 2022, and his current term ends on December 1, 2024.
Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, Pickett graduated from Oakley High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Brigham Young University in 1995. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Pickett served a mission in Germany.
With his brothers, Pickett co-owns and operates Pickett Ranch, which produces wheat, potatoes, beef, and lamb. He served as a commissioner of the Oakley Valley Cemetery District, vice chair of the Cassia County Gateway Powerline Task Force, and chair of the Cassia County Federal Lands Advisory Group.
Pickett ran for election to the Idaho House of Representatives to represent District 27A and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. He succeeded Scott Bedke. His career experience includes owning and working as the vice president of Pickett Ranch. He has served on the board of the Oakley Valley Water Company.
In the 2023-2024 term, Pickett was assigned to the following committees: House Agricultural Affairs Committee, Local Government and Taxation Committee, and Transportation Committee.
