Greg L. Lanting is a representative of District 25, House Seat B, in the Idaho State Legislature. He is currently serving his first term. Lanting was born and raised on a ranch/farm in southern Twin Falls County. He is a graduate of Filer High School, College of Southern Idaho, University of Idaho, and College of Idaho. He served ten years in the Idaho Air and Army National Guard. He was employed for 16 years as a teacher and 17 years as a middle school principal.

He served 16 years on the Twin Falls City Council and was the Twin Falls mayor from 2012 to 2013. He was the president of the Association of Idaho Cities from 2013 to 2014. He is a current member of the Twin Falls County Fair Board.

Lanting ran for election to the Idaho House of Representatives to represent District 25B and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His current term ends on December 1, 2024. His career experience includes working as a teacher and middle school principal. He has served on the Twin Falls County Fair Board, as the president of the Association of Idaho Cities, and as the mayor and on the city council of Twin Falls, Idaho.
