Representative Mark Sauter
Mark Sauter is a member of the Republican Party and represents District 1A in the Idaho House of Representatives. He assumed office on December 1, 2022, and his current term ends on December 1, 2024.
Sauter ran for election to the Idaho House of Representatives to represent District 1A and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. His tenure has been marked by his commitment to public service and his extensive experience in the fire service.
Born and raised in Idaho, Sauter has a deep connection to his community. He earned a B.A. in fire administration from California State University at Los Angeles in 1994 and an M.P.A. from the University of Southern California in 1997. His education laid the foundation for his career in the fire service, where he served for 30 years, including eight years as a Fire Chief.
After retiring from the fire service, Sauter continued to serve his community in various capacities. He has been involved with several professional and volunteer associations, including the YMCA, Optimist, Rotary, school district, and Elks. He has also been an Idaho Family Forest owner since 1993.
In the Idaho House of Representatives, Sauter serves on several committees, including Agricultural Affairs, Education, Judiciary, Rules & Administration. His work in these committees reflects his dedication to improving the lives of the people in his district and the state of Idaho.
