Steve Berch is an American politician and businessman, currently serving in the Idaho House of Representatives. A Democrat, he is serving the House representing Seat A in Idaho Legislative District 15.

Education: Steve Berch received a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the State University of New York at Albany. He subsequently received an MBA in management information systems from the University of Minnesota.

Career: Steve Berch worked at Hewlett-Packard as a manager for 35 years in Boise prior to being elected to the Idaho House of Representatives. His roles at Hewlett-Packard included computer programmer, marketing manager, strategic business planner, and global program manager. He ran for a House seat five times, eventually winning the seat from Republican Lynn Luker on his fifth try.

In addition to his work at Hewlett-Packard, Steve Berch is the owner of Steve Berch Consulting LLC, providing business planning and process consulting for local companies. He previously served on the Greater Boise Auditorium District board from 2013 to 2018.

Personal Life: Steve Berch has been married to Leslie Berch for 39 years. They have a daughter named Katie, who is a graduate of Boise State University.

Community Involvement: Steve Berch has lived and worked in West Boise’s District 15 for 41 years. He was elected to the Idaho state legislature in 2018, representing District 15 (House Seat A). Steve is the first Democratic candidate ever elected – and re-elected – by his district. He serves on the House education, business, and local government committees. He was also a former vice-president of the Board of Directors of the Greater Boise Auditorium District and the West Valley Neighborhood Association (WVNA).
