Chapin Rose, affiliated with the Republican Party, serves as an American politician in the Illinois State Senate, representing District 51. He assumed office in 2013.

Chapin Rose was born on December 17, 1973, in Jacksonville, Illinois. He was raised in central Illinois along with his wife, Camille. Rose attended Charleston High School and later received a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Economics from the University of Illinois. After graduation, Rose attended the University of Illinois College of Law.

Before being elected to the legislature, Rose served as a Senior Assistant State’s Attorney in Champaign County where he prosecuted felony crimes. He served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2003 until 2013, representing the 110th district. During his tenure, he was a member of the House Republican Rural Economic Development Task force and co-chaired the House Republican Methamphetamine Task Force. He also served on the Special Investigative Committee Regarding the Impeachment of Rod Blagojevich.

In January 2013, Rose became a member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 51st district. The 51st district includes all or parts of McLean, DeWitt, Macon, Piatt, Shelby, Moultrie, Douglas, Champaign, Vermillion, and Edgar counties in Central Illinois. He is currently the ranking Republican on the Senate Appropriations Committee and serves on several other committees including Appropriations – Education, Insurance, Judiciary, and Transportation.

Rose was selected to participate in the inaugural class of the 2012 Edgar Fellows Leadership Program. He has been cited numerous times by the Illinois Farm Bureau and small business groups for his work in supporting pro-job creation and pro-agriculture policies in Springfield.

Over the years, Rose has received numerous awards and honors for his service. These include the Bowhay Fellowship Award 2003 – Midwestern Legislative Conference Freshman Legislator of the Year – Illinois Health Care Association, Illinois Jaycees Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award in 2005, and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Champion of Free Enterprise Award in 2007-2008, among others.

Rose and his wife, Camille, live in Mahomet and have four children.
