Representative Cyril Nichols Contact information

Cyril Nichols is a Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives from the 32nd district. He assumed office on April 8, 2021, filling the seat of former state Representative Andre Thapedi, who resigned on March 17, 2021.

Nichols was born and raised in the Cabrini Green community on the Near North Side of Chicago. He is the son of Ulysses and Markusree Nichols. His commitment to service stems from his parents’ upbringing and their dedication to not only being a part of the community but also serving the community.

Nichols has an extensive background in coaching and has always volunteered his time and talents in mentoring and/or coaching at all levels. He has worked for the Cabrini Green community-based organization (CYCLE), Chicago Park District, Chicago Youth Centers, YMCA, Cunningham Children’s Home in Champaign-Urbana, Benedictine University, the University of St. Francis, as well as City Colleges of Chicago. He has also created the Ashburn Family Youth Center.

Nichols is a graduate of Colby College in Kansas and Columbia College in Chicago. Since his appointment, Representative Nichols has co-sponsored several bills as well as introduced legislation for consideration. He has also allocated millions of dollars to community-based organizations in the 32nd District.

He is a proud husband and father and is also a member of Phi Beta Sigma and other social and professional organizations. His motto for the 32nd District is “Culture for SERVING all… and We Do the Work!”
