About Representative Mary Beth Canty
Mary Beth Canty is a member of the Democratic Party and represents the 54th District of Illinois in the House of Representatives. She assumed office on January 11, 2023, and her current term ends on January 8, 2025. She is running for re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives to represent District 54 and is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on March 19, 2024.
Canty lives in Arlington Heights, Illinois. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English and literary & cultural studies from the College of William & Mary in 2003 and a law degree from the University of Arizona in 2006. Her career experience includes working as an associate attorney with Litchfield Cavo LLP, the director of the Regional Transportation Authority of Northeastern Illinois, and a management consultant with Kenway Consulting.
