Senator Mary Edly-Allen Contact information

Mary Edly-Allen is a member of the Democratic Party and represents District 31 in the Illinois State Senate. She assumed office on January 11, 2023, and her current term ends on January 8, 2025. She is running for re-election to the Illinois State Senate to represent District 31 and is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on March 19, 2024.

Before her tenure in the Senate, Mary Edly-Allen represented the 51st House district in the 101st General Assembly. She has a B.A. in Education from Northeastern Illinois University and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with bilingual certification from National Louis University.

In addition to her political career, Mary Edly-Allen has a rich background in education. She is the assistant director of adult education at Mundelein High School, where she teaches night classes to English language learners. She also co-founded an educational non-profit, Foundation46, and was a founding member of the Community Consolidated School District 46 Diversity Committee.
