Representative Stephanie Kifowit
Stephanie Kifowit is the Illinois state representative for the 84th district, which includes all or parts of Aurora, Boulder Hill, Montgomery, Naperville, and Oswego. She was born on November 2, 1971.
Kifowit is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served her country with distinction. After her military service, she became a substitute teacher, imparting knowledge to the next generation. She also served as an alderman in the city of Aurora, where she was involved in local governance.
In addition to her public service, Kifowit is a former registered financial advisor, helping individuals and families plan for their financial future. She holds a Bachelor of Science in political science and a Masters of Public Administration from Northern Illinois University, demonstrating her commitment to education and public service.
In 2013, Kifowit assumed office as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives from the 84th district. She succeeded Tom Cross, who was redistricted. As a representative, Kifowit has served on several committees, including the Healthcare Licensing, Financial Institutions, Intermodal Transportation, General Services Appropriation – Vice Chairman, and Business Growth Committees for the 99th General Assembly.
In 2018, Kifowit was appointed to Governor-elect J. B. Pritzker’s transition committee on Veterans Affairs, further cementing her commitment to veterans and their needs. As of July 3, 2022, Representative Kifowit is a member of several Illinois House committees, including the Appropriations - General Service Committee (HAPG), Income Tax Subcommittee (HREF-INTX), Operations Subcommittee (HSGA-OPER), Procurement Subcommittee (HSGA-PROC), Public Utilities Committee (HPUB), Revenue & Finance Committee (HREF), State Government Administration Committee (HSGA), and Veterans’ Affairs Committee (HVET).
