Suzanne M. Ness is a Democratic member of the Illinois House from the 66th district since January 13, 2021. The 66th district, located in the Chicago area, includes all or parts of Algonquin, Carpentersville, Crystal Lake, East Dundee, Elgin, Gilberts, Huntley, Lake in the Hills, Lakewood, Sleepy Hollow, and West Dundee.

Suzanne M. Ness is a Democratic member of the Illinois House from the 66th district since January 13, 2021. The 66th district, located in the Chicago area, includes all or parts of Algonquin, Carpentersville, Crystal Lake, East Dundee, Elgin, Gilberts, Huntley, Lake in the Hills, Lakewood, Sleepy Hollow, and West Dundee.

Ness was elected to the 66th district after defeating Republican incumbent Allen Skillicorn. She is currently running for re-election to the Illinois House of Representatives to represent District 66. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on March 19, 2024.

In terms of education, Ness graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies and a minor in Women’s Studies. She also holds a Master of Arts in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She became a certified professional co-active coach from Coaches Training International in San Francisco.

Professionally, Ness is a small business owner and has worked as an adjunct faculty member for Purdue University Global since 2010. In 2013, she founded the Living Forward Foundation. In 2018, she was elected as a member of the McHenry County Board.

As a legislator, Ness has been assigned to several committees including the Appropriations-General Service Committee, Counties & Townships Committee, Energy & Environment Committee, House Human Services Committee, State Government Administration Committee, and Transportation: Regulation, Roads & Bridges Committee.

In her role as State Representative, Suzanne has brought in over 3 million dollars to the district, successfully sponsored and passed 4 bills that were signed into law, consistently advocated for the needs of her constituents, and supported legislation that has made Illinois a leader in environmental sustainability, voting rights, and access to reproductive healthcare.

On a personal note, she has three children, a granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews.
