Wayne Arthur Rosenthal is a distinguished member of the Illinois House of Representatives. He has served the people of Illinois in various capacities over the years, demonstrating his commitment to public service and the betterment of his community.

Rosenthal began his political career in January 2011 when he was elected as a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives. He represented the 95th district from 2013 to 2015 and the 98th district from 2011 to 2013. His tenure in the House was marked by his dedication to his constituents and his efforts to promote policies that benefited the state of Illinois.

In January 2015, Rosenthal resigned from his position in the House to head the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. His leadership at the department was instrumental in promoting conservation and responsible use of the state’s natural resources. He served as the Director of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources from 2015 to 2019.

After his stint at the Department of Natural Resources, Rosenthal returned to the political arena. He announced his candidacy for the Illinois House of Representatives in the 2022 elections. He now represents the newly drawn 108th District, which covers all of Menard County, and portions of Sangamon, Christian, Macoupin, and Montgomery Counties.

Apart from his political career, Rosenthal is also a family farmer and a retired Brigadier General in the Illinois Air National Guard and United States Air Force. He has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Illinois Springfield. Prior to his election to the General Assembly, he served as a trustee of Lincoln Land Community College.

Rosenthal is an avid sportsman and hunter. He established the Wild Rural Park Hunting and Fishing Preserve, demonstrating his passion for outdoor activities and conservation. He is a member of several organizations, including the National Guard Association of Illinois/United States, Air Force Association, American Legion Post #721, and the Knights of Columbus Council #1152.

Rosenthal and his wife Marcia are the proud parents of three sons and grandparents of seven. They reside in Morrisonville, Illinois. Throughout his career, Rosenthal has shown a deep commitment to serving his community and the state of Illinois. His contributions to public service continue to have a lasting impact on the lives of the people he serves.
