Senator Rick Niemeyer Contact information

Since 2014, State Sen. Rick Niemeyer has been the representative for Senate District 6, encompassing Benton and Newton counties and portions of Lake and Jasper counties. Prior to his tenure in the Indiana State Senate, Niemeyer served in the Indiana House of Representatives.

Niemeyer holds the position of chair for the Senate Committee on Environmental Affairs and serves as the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Local Government. Additionally, he is a member of the Senate Committee on Tax and Fiscal Policy.

Beyond his legislative responsibilities, Niemeyer is actively involved in various roles. He owns and operates Lowell Livestock Auction and serves as the owner and auctioneer of Niemeyer Auction Service. He is also the president of the Lake County Community Services and a member of St. John United Church of Christ.

Niemeyer’s commitment to civic engagement extends beyond the General Assembly. He has previously served as a township trustee and assessor for West Creek Township, Lake County councilman from the Seventh District, chair of the Lake County Solid Waste Board, and a member of the Lake County Planning Commission and Drainage Board Advisory Committee. Additionally, he is a former member of the TriCreek Ambulance Service Agency.

Residing in Lowell with his wife, Connie, Niemeyer remains an active participant in both legislative and community affairs.
