Beth Wessel-Kroeschell is an American politician who held the District 45 seat in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2005 to 2023. During the 2022 state legislative elections, she was redistricted to District 49. As of September 2011, Wessel-Kroeschell serves on several committees in the Iowa House – the Environmental Protection and Judiciary committees, as well as the Human Resources committee, where she is the ranking member. She is also a member of the Health and Human Services Appropriations Subcommittee and of the Medical Assistance Projections and Assessment Council.

Wessel-Kroeschell was born and raised in Ames, Iowa. She graduated from Ames High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Northern Iowa in 1985 and a master’s degree in public administration from Iowa State University in 1987. Outside of politics, she is the public events coordinator for Reiman Gardens.

She has had a successful electoral history. In the 2004 Iowa House of Representatives primary elections, she won with 62.1% of the votes. In the 2004 general elections, she secured 56.2% of the votes. She was unopposed in the 2006 elections. In the 2008 elections, she secured 58.0% of the votes. In the 2010 elections, she secured 52.9% of the votes.

In her tenure, she has served on various committees including the House Appropriations Committee, House Human Resources Committee, Ranking Member House Judiciary Committee, and Public Safety Committee.
