Representative Brian Best
Brian Best was born on December 12, 1959, in Glidden, Iowa, United States. He is an American businessman and politician currently serving in the Iowa House of Representatives from the 11th District. A member of the Republican Party, he has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2015.
Best graduated from Glidden-Ralston High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in social science from the University of Northern Iowa. His career experience includes owning Bestmed Respiratory and Western Iowa Sleep and working as the president of Sleep Lab. Best served on the board of Glidden Planning and Zoning.
In the Iowa House of Representatives, Best has served on several committees including the Appropriations, Commerce, Human Resources, and Transportation committees. He has shown a commitment to his role by actively participating in these committees.
Best was elected in 2014, defeating incumbent representative, Democrat Dan Muhlbauer. He was reelected in 2016, besting Democratic opponent Ken Myers. In the general election for Iowa House of Representatives District 11, Best won again on November 8, 2022.
