Charles William Isenhart, commonly known as Chuck Isenhart, was born on March 30, 1959, in Dubuque, Iowa. He is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. He has been representing the 72nd District in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2008.

Charles William Isenhart, commonly known as Chuck Isenhart, was born on March 30, 1959, in Dubuque, Iowa. He is an American politician and a member of the Democratic Party. He has been representing the 72nd District in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2008.

Isenhart graduated from Wahlert High School. In 1981, he obtained his degree in political science and mass communications from Loras College. He furthered his education by receiving his master’s degree in journalism from Marquette University in 1984.

Outside of politics, Isenhart owns a small business called Common Good Services. From 1990 to 2007, he served as the executive director of the Dubuque Area Labor-Management Council.

Isenhart has been or is currently a member of several organizations, including the Professional Labor and Employment Relations Association, National Business Coalition on Health, Iowa 2010 Strategic Planning Council, Iowans for a Better Future Board of Directors, Governor’s 21st Century Workforce Council, and Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service Customer Council.

In his community, Isenhart has been involved with the Dubuque Housing Commission, Dubuque Community Development Commission, Dubuque County Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities Stakeholders Committee, Dubuque Soccer Club, American Youth Soccer Organization, America’s River Soccer Classic, Dubuque Housing Coalition, Healthy Dubuque 2000, Crescent Community Health Center Planning Committee, Downtown Neighborhood Council, St. Raphael Cathedral Parish, Habitat for Humanity board, Project Concern, Dubuque Food Pantry, and Dubuque Soccer Alliance.

Isenhart’s tenure in the Iowa House of Representatives began on January 1, 2023, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025. He ran for re-election to represent District 72 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
