Representative Dan Gehlbach
Dan Gehlbach is a member of the Republican Party and represents District 46 in the Iowa House of Representatives. He assumed office on January 1, 2023, and his current term ends on January 1, 2025. Gehlbach ran for election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 46 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Gehlbach was born in Des Moines, Iowa. He earned a B.S. in business administration from the University of Kansas in 2000 and an M.B.A. from Arizona State University in 2008. His career experience includes owning Mathnasium - The Math Learning Center and working as an audit manager with CHAN Healthcare Auditors, a senior internal auditor with Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and a field auditor with Audit Bureau of Circulations.
Gehlbach has served on the board of the Waukee Area Chamber of Commerce and the boundary committee of Waukee Community Schools. He has also served on the Waukee Community School District’s Board of Directors where he served as past Vice-President. He was elected in November 2019 to a four-year term. He resigned in November 2022 following his election to the Iowa House of Representatives.
In addition to his political career, Gehlbach is a native of Urbandale and graduate of Urbandale High School. For the past 16 years, Dan has called Dallas County Urbandale home. He moved back home to Iowa in 2006 to start a family and eventually start his business. Dan and his wife Staci have 2 daughters that are excited to be attending Des Moines Christian where they are in 9th and 6th grade.
Dan and Staci own and operate Mathnasium Learning Center in West Des Moines. Their center has been open since 2011 and has helped hundreds, if not thousands, of kids reach their potential and thrive in math. Dan was formerly on the Waukee Community School District’s Board of Directors where he served as past Vice-President. He was elected in November 2019 to a four-year term. He resigned in November 2022 following his election to the Iowa House of Representatives.
