Thomas Gerhold, born on June 21, 1961, is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He was elected to the Iowa House of Representatives for the first time in 2018, representing District 84.

Gerhold was born and raised near Atkins, Iowa, where his family owned a farm. He attended Benton Community High School, and later enrolled at Kirkwood Community College and the University of Iowa. After his education, he worked as a research associate within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine.

In February 2018, Gerhold began his campaign for the Iowa House of Representatives. He ran unopposed in the Republican Party primary and won the November 2018 general elections to succeed the retiring Dawn Pettengill of District 75. He defeated Democratic Party candidate Paula Denison and Libertarian Party candidate John George.

As of 2023, Gerhold is the incumbent representative of the 84th District. Prior to this, he represented the 75th District from 2019 to 2023. His political career has been marked by his commitment to the Republican Party and his dedication to serving the people of Iowa.
