Senator Waylon Brown
Waylon Brown, born on July 13, 1979, is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Republican Party. He is currently serving as the Iowa State Senator from the 30th District. His journey in the Iowa Senate began when he defeated the incumbent Mary Jo Wilhelm in 2016.
Born and raised in St. Ansgar, Iowa, Brown is not just a politician but also a farmer and a small businessman. He owns a construction company and has also served as the Vice President of the Mitchell County, Iowa Farm Bureau Board. His deep roots in farming and business have given him a unique perspective on the issues that matter to his constituents.
In addition to his business and farming interests, Brown has been actively involved in his local community. He is a former member of the Mitchell County Farm Bureau Board and the St. Ansgar Planning and Zoning Board. He is a graduate of St. Ansgar High School and continues to live in the area, farming in Worth and Mitchell counties.

He also serves on the Studies Committee, as well as the Administrative Rules Review Committee (Vice Chair), Fuel Distribution Percentage Formula Review Committee, State Government Efficiency Review Committee, Nonresident Deer Hunting License Committee, Nonresident Wild Turkey Hunting License Committee, and the Statewide Fire and Police Retirement System Board of Trustees.
In the 2016 Iowa Senate 26th District election, Brown secured a decisive victory with 62.38% of the votes, marking a significant gain for the Republican Party. His win signaled a shift in the political landscape and underscored his popularity among voters.
