Bob Lewis is a member of the Republican Party and represents District 123 in the Kansas House of Representatives. He assumed office on January 9, 2023, and his current term ends on January 13, 2025.

Born in Garden City, Kansas, Lewis graduated from Garden City High School in 1976. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Grinnell College in 1980 and a law degree from Stanford University in 1984. His career experience includes working as an attorney. He has served on the board of the Garden City Family YMCA and as a Finney County Republican Precinct Committeeman.

Lewis ran for election to the Kansas House of Representatives to represent District 123 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. He defeated incumbent John Wheeler Jr. in the Republican primary for Kansas House of Representatives District 123 on August 2, 2022.

In the 2023-2024 legislative session, Lewis was assigned to several committees, including Judiciary (as Vice-chair), Financial Institutions and Pensions, Welfare Reform, and Child Welfare and Foster Care. He also served on the 2023 Special Committee on Civil Asset Forfeiture.

Lewis has sponsored several bills and resolutions, including the born-alive infants protection act, which provides legal protections for infants who are born alive regardless of the intent of the delivery, and a bill amending the Kansas indoor clean air act to prohibit smoking on the gaming floor of a lottery gaming facility or racetrack gaming facility.

Lewis currently serves as Senior Counsel at The Marsh Law Firm, PLLC, where they represent crime victims in civil cases as well as criminal restitution proceedings, with a special focus on representing survivors of childhood sexual abuse.
