Senator Craig Bowser

Craig Bowser is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves in the Kansas State Senate, representing District 1. He assumed office on January 13, 2025, and his current term will conclude on January 8, 2029.

Bowser was elected to the Kansas State Senate in the November 5, 2024 general election, succeeding longtime Senator Dennis Pyle. His victory ensured continued Republican representation in District 1, which covers the northeastern corner of Kansas, including counties such as Atchison, Doniphan, and Brown. As a newly elected senator, Bowser has emphasized his commitment to conservative values, fiscal responsibility, and policies that strengthen Kansas communities.

Born in Warrensburg, Missouri, Bowser was raised by a single mother on a ranch near Holton, Kansas. His upbringing in rural Kansas shaped his perspective on community, hard work, and service. After graduating from Holton High School, he pursued higher education at Emporia State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. He later completed a Master of Business Administration at Washburn University and went on to earn a Ph.D. from Henley-Putnam University in strategic security studies. Bowser also has an extensive record of military service. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1991 until 2015, completing nearly 25 years of service. During his military career, he held various leadership positions and was recognized for his contributions with awards such as the Meritorious Honor Award. His military background has been a defining aspect of his career, shaping his approach to leadership and policymaking with a focus on discipline, national security, and service to country.

Professionally, Bowser has worked in both public and private sectors, applying his expertise in security and management.
