Senator Dan Kerschen
Dan Kerschen is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Kansas State Senate, representing the 26th district. He has been serving in this role since 2013. Prior to this, he served in the Kansas House of Representatives from 2009 to 2013.
Born on August 2, 1952, in Wichita, Kansas, Dan was raised near Garden Plain, Kansas, where he continues to reside and work on his family’s farm. His family, faith, and farming background have all helped to shape his values and approach to serving the state of Kansas and the people of the 26th District.
Dan graduated from Kansas State University and has held various leadership positions in key organizations related to the dairy and agriculture industry. His deep roots in farming and his education have given him a unique perspective on the issues facing Kansas, particularly those related to agriculture and rural communities.
He is an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cheney. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Dan has been married to Norene for over 42 years. They have five children. Their oldest daughter, Emily, lives in Waco, Texas with her husband, Ethan, and son, Tyler. Jon, who works with Dan on the family farm, is married to Emily, and they have two daughters, Abigail and Jenevieve, and two sons, Willie and Otis. Rachel, married to Jeffrey, has three daughters, Brooklyn, Lacy, and Elizabeth; they live near Mount Hope. Keith is a professor of education at Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, and their youngest daughter, Kim, married to Marshall, lives in Florida where Marshall works as research scientist.
Throughout his political career, Dan has worked tirelessly to ensure that the values and interests of the citizens in his district are represented. His commitment to public service and his dedication to his constituents are evident in his work. He continues to serve the people of Kansas with integrity and dedication.
