David Buehler is a member of the Republican Party and is currently serving in the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 40. He assumed office on January 9, 2023, and his current term ends on January 13, 2025.

David Buehler ran for election to the Kansas House of Representatives to represent District 40 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. Prior to his political career, David Buehler served in the U.S. Navy and reached the rank of captain. His service to the nation spans both active duty and reserve, with deployments to Iraq and Kuwait.

In terms of education, Buehler earned a B.B.A. from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1984 and an M.A. in management from Webster University in 1993. His career experience includes working as a production manager with Hallmark Cards. He worked in the Hallmark and Select products plants for over 23 years.

In addition to his political and professional career, Buehler has served on the Alliance Against Family Violence Board of Directors and has been affiliated with United Way of Leavenworth County. He is also a Veteran of Foreign Wars life-member.
