Representative Doug Blex
Charles Douglas Blex, known as Doug Blex, was born on December 19, 1946. He is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. He has been serving as a representative for the 12th district in the Kansas House of Representatives since January 9, 2017.
Before his political career, Doug Blex worked as a Wildlife Biologist and Farmer. His expertise in these fields has been reflected in his work as a legislator, particularly in his committee assignments. He has served on several committees, including Agriculture and Natural Resources, Health and Human Services, and Water. He also held a leadership position as the Vice-chair of the Local Government committee.
In addition to his committee work, Doug Blex has sponsored several bills and resolutions. These include HB2011, which provides a Kansas income tax subtraction modification for certain amounts received as compensation for members of the armed forces, and HB2036, which creates a property tax exemption for retired and disabled veterans. He also sponsored HB2313, the born-alive infants protection act, which provides legal protections for infants who are born alive regardless of the intent of the delivery.
Doug Blex resides in Independence, Kansas, U.S. with his spouse, Meggin. They have five children. He is an alumnus of Kansas State University.
