Representative Jarrod Ousley
Jarrod Ousley is a member of the Democratic Party and a representative for Kansas House District 24. He assumed office on January 12, 2015, and his current term ends on January 13, 2025. He was re-elected to the Kansas House of Representatives to represent District 24 in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Born on October 29, 1977, Representative Ousley grew up in Johnson County, attending Shawnee Mission public schools. For over 13 years, he has owned and operated a paint contracting company. His district, District 24, is composed of the city of Merriam and parts of Mission and Overland Park.
Ousley was first elected to the Kansas House of Representatives in 2014. In the 2019 session, he served as the Ranking Minority Member of the Children and Seniors Committee, and as a member of the Child Welfare Systems Task Force, the Elections Committee, the Kansas Security Committee, and the Local Government Committee.
In the 2023-2024 session, Ousley was assigned to the following committees: Appropriations Committee, Child Welfare and Foster Care, K-12 Education Budget Committee, Child Welfare System Oversight, Kansas Security Committee, and State Building Construction Committee.
In the 2021-2022 session, Ousley was assigned to the following committees: Kansas Security Committee, House Local Government Committee, State Building Construction Committee, Children and Seniors Committee (Ranking Minority Member), and K-12 Education Budget Committee.
