Jeff Longbine is a Republican member of the Kansas Senate, representing the 17th district since 2010. He has served as Vice President of the Senate since 2017. He is also the owner of the car dealership Longbine Autoplaza in Emporia.

Born on April 24, 1962, in Emporia, Kansas, Longbine grew up in Emporia and attended Emporia public schools. He studied business administration and played football at both the University of Kansas and Emporia State University. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, he worked in the family business.

Longbine’s professional experience includes managing his family’s auto dealership. He is a fourth-generation Kansan and small business owner. His current term in the Kansas State Senate ends on January 13, 2025.

Over the years, Longbine has served on several legislative committees. Some of the committees he has served on include the Senate Federal and State Affairs Committee, Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee, and the Pensions, Investments and Benefits Committee. He has held positions such as Chair and Vice Chair on these committees.

Longbine ran for re-election to the Kansas State Senate to represent District 17 and won in the general election on November 3, 2020. He financed a significant portion of his own campaign, and his campaign also received contributions from various groups and individuals.
