Representative Pam Curtis Contact information

Pam Curtis (born May 4, 1955) is an American politician. She has served as a Democratic member for the 32nd district in the Kansas House of Representatives since 2014. She was appointed to this position after the death of the incumbent, and won re-election in November 2020 with a significant majority.

Curtis was born in Kansas City and pursued a degree in communications studies at the University of Missouri. Her professional experience includes serving as Chief of Staff for the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, and for Mayor Joe Reardon.

In her role as a legislator, Curtis has been involved in various committees including Appropriations, Judiciary, Agriculture and Natural Resources Budget, and the Joint Committee on Information Technology. She has also sponsored numerous bills and resolutions, some of which include providing for sales tax exemption for hygiene products, declaring Juneteenth National Independence Day to be a legal public holiday, abolishing the death penalty and creating the crime of aggravated murder, and enacting the art therapist licensure act to provide for the regulation and licensing of professional art therapists.
