Representative Robyn Essex

Robyn Essex is an American politician who has been serving in the Kansas House of Representatives from the 78th district since January 9, 2023. She is a member of the Republican Party.

Before her political career, Essex graduated from Apple Valley High School. She then earned a B.A. in business administration and psychology from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 1990. Her career experience includes working as a real estate agent, a district representative for U.S. Senator Jerry Moran, and a kindergarten aide with the Olathe School District.

In 2015, she ran for leadership in Olathe USD 233, but lost to Joe Beveridge. Despite this setback, Essex continued to be involved in her community. She has served on Olathe’s Historic Preservation Board, its Planning Commission, and on the city council representing the first ward.

Essex has also served as the president of the Sunflower Club, as a Kansas Republican Party Precinct Committeewoman, and on the city council of Olathe, Kansas. Her dedication to public service and her community eventually led her to run for a seat in the Kansas House of Representatives.

In the general election on November 8, 2022, Essex ran for election to the Kansas House of Representatives to represent District 78. She won the election and assumed office on January 9, 2023. Her current term ends on January 13, 2025.

Throughout her political career, Essex has shown a commitment to serving her constituents and making a positive impact in her community. Her work in the Kansas House of Representatives continues to reflect this commitment.
