Ronald Ryckman is a member of the Republican Party and represents District 38 in the Kansas State Senate. He assumed office on March 10, 2021, and his current term ends on January 13, 2025.

Ryckman ran in a special election to the Kansas State Senate to represent District 38 and won in the special general election on November 8, 2022. The Republican precinct committees of Kansas Senate District 38 appointed Ryckman to the seat on March 4, 2021, to replace Bud Estes (R), who passed away on February 13, 2021.

Before his tenure in the Senate, Ryckman was a Republican member of the Kansas House of Representatives, representing District 115 from 2011 to 2017. He did not seek re-election to the Kansas House of Representatives in 2016.

Ryckman graduated from Kalkaska High School in 1966 and earned a degree in education from Central Michigan University in 1970.

During his tenure, Ryckman has been assigned to several committees. In the 2023-2024 term, he was assigned to the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee as Vice Chair, Senate Federal and State Affairs Committee, Senate Local Government Committee, and the Transparency and Ethics Committee.
