Chris Freeland, born on January 7, 1969, in Benton, Kentucky, is an American politician serving as a member in the Kentucky House of Representatives from the 6th district since January 1, 2019. His district comprises Lyon, Marshall, and McCracken counties.

Education: Freeland studied at Murray State University where he earned a Master of Arts in communications, and a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and History.

Career: Freeland is a member of the Lions Club, the Kentucky Broadcasters Association, the National Rifle Association of America, and the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce. In 2018, he ran for representative from the 6th district against Linda Story Edwards. Freeland defeated Edwards by 29 points, and assumed office on January 1, 2019. He ran for re-election in 2020 against Al Cunningham. Freeland defeated Cunningham by 43.8 points. In 2022, he ran for re-election unopposed.

These include the Economic Development & Workforce Investment Committee, Small Business & Information Technology Committee, Tourism and Outdoor Recreation Committee, House Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Protection Committee, House Appropriations and Revenue Committee, and House Local Government Committee.

Election Results: In the 2018 Election, Freeland received 12,236 votes (64.5%) against Linda Story Edwards who received 6,727 votes (35.5%). In the 2020 Election, Freeland received 16,562 votes (71.9%) against Al Cunningham who received 6,487 votes (28.1%). In the 2022 Election, Freeland ran unopposed and received 14,928 votes (100%).

Freeland is currently running for re-election to the Kentucky House of Representatives to represent District 6. The Republican primary for this office on May 21, 2024, was canceled.
