Jason Petrie was born on February 27, 1971. He is an American politician who has served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from the 16th district since 2017. He was first elected in 2016, defeating incumbent Democratic representative Martha Jane King.

Petrie is a member of the Republican Party. His tenure in the Kentucky House of Representatives began in 2017 and his current term ends in 2025. He is running for re-election to the Kentucky House of Representatives to represent District 16. The Republican primary for this office on May 21, 2024, was canceled.

Jason Petrie was born and, as of February 2020, lived in Elkton, Kentucky. He earned a bachelor of arts in economics and philosophy from Berea College, a master’s degree in humanities from Western Kentucky University, and a J.D. from The Ohio State University. Petrie’s career experience includes working as a self-employed attorney.

Over the years, Petrie has been assigned to various committees. In 2023-2024, he was assigned to the House Appropriations and Revenue Committee as Chair, and the House Judiciary Committee.
