Representative John Blanton
John Blanton is an American politician who has served as a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives since January 2017. He represents Kentucky’s 92nd House district. He held a long career in the Kentucky State Police.
Blanton was born in Salyersville, Kentucky. He earned a degree from Morehead State University. He is a Baptist. He is an ordained minister and serves as a pastor at his Baptist church.
Blanton was first elected to the house in the 2016 Kentucky House of Representatives election and was reelected in the 2018, 2020, and 2022 Kentucky House of Representatives elections.
In his career, Blanton has been assigned to various committees. In the 2023-2024 term, he was assigned to the House Judiciary Committee, House Natural Resources and Energy Committee, House Transportation Committee, and House Veterans, Military Affairs, and Public Protection Committee. In the 2021-2022 term, he was assigned to the House Appropriations and Revenue Committee, Elections, Const.
