Representative Mary Imes
Mary Beth Imes, born on March 31, is an American politician from Kentucky. She represents District 5 in the Kentucky House of Representatives as a member of the Republican Party.
Before her political career, she was the director of the Imes Funeral Home and Crematory. Her journey into politics began when she was elected in 2020, succeeding the incumbent representative Larry Elkins who retired.
She assumed office on January 1, 2021, and her current term is set to end on January 1, 2025. As a representative, she has been assigned to several committees including the Elections, Constitutional Amendments & Intergovernmental Affairs Committee, the House Local Government Committee, and the House State Government Committee where she serves as the Vice Chair. She also serves on the House Transportation Committee, Local Government Committee, State Government Committee, and Transportation Committee.
In addition to her political career, Mary Imes has also had a successful career as a business executive. She has been a director of Imes Funeral Home, contributing her skills and expertise to the business.
On a personal note, Mary Imes is a Baptist and resides in Murray, Kentucky, U.S. She has three children with her husband, Kenny Imes, who previously represented the 5th district from 2013 to 2018.
Mary Imes is currently running for re-election to the Kentucky House of Representatives to represent District 5. The Republican primary for this office on May 21, 2024, was canceled.
