Senator Matt Nunn

Matt Nunn, born on January 6, 1978, is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Kentucky Senate, representing the 17th district. His term began on January 1, 2025, following the retirement of incumbent senator Damon Thayer. The 17th district includes Grant and Scott Counties, as well as parts of Fayette and Kenton.

Nunn’s journey into politics began with his election in the 2024 Kentucky Senate election, where he secured a decisive victory with 69.1 percent of the vote, defeating Democratic candidate Kiana Fields. His political career is marked by his commitment to his constituents and his dedication to public service.

Before entering politics, Nunn earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Eastern Kentucky University in 2005. His career experience includes working as the vice president of Enterprise Risk Management with Toyota Tsusho America.
