Matthew Deneen, born on September 19, 1968, is an American politician from Kentucky. He is a member of the Republican Party and has represented District 10 in the Kentucky State Senate since January 1, 2023.

Matthew Deneen graduated from Elizabethtown High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education/business from Georgetown College and a master’s degree in counseling from Western Kentucky University. His career experience includes working as a teacher with Hardin County Schools.

He has served on the city council of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, as the chairman of the Elizabethtown Trail Town Advisory Board, and on the board of Greenspace. He ran for election to the Kentucky State Senate to represent District 10 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

As the proud youngest son of Jim and Norma Deneen, Matthew brings a wealth of experience to his role. Throughout his career, he has served as a dedicated educator, coach, and school administrator. He is also a small business owner, community organizer, grant writer, philanthropist, and has been twice elected as an Elizabethtown City Councilman.

By working collaboratively with individuals, organizations, businesses, civic groups, veterans associations, government agencies, educational institutions, nonprofits, and foundations, he has raised over half a million dollars to improve the quality of life for residents of his district.
