Steve Riley is an American politician from Kentucky, born on June 23, 1958. He is a member of the Republican Party and represents District 23 in the Kentucky State House. He was first elected in 2016 and assumed office on January 1, 2017. His current term ends on January 1, 2025.

Steve Riley is an American politician from Kentucky, born on June 23, 1958. He is a member of the Republican Party and represents District 23 in the Kentucky State House. He was first elected in 2016 and assumed office on January 1, 2017. His current term ends on January 1, 2025.

Riley was born and raised in Kentucky. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and Government, a Master’s degree in History and Education, and a Rank I in School Administration, all from Western Kentucky University. Before entering politics, Riley had a successful career as an educator and a school administrator.

In addition to his work in education, Riley has been involved in various community organizations. He is a member of the Glasgow-Barren Co Chamber of Commerce and the Glasgow Rotary Club. He has also served on the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) Board of Control.

As a legislator, Riley has been assigned to several committees. In the 2023-2024 term, he served on the House Appropriations and Revenue Committee, the House Education Committee, the Committee on Families and Children (as Vice Chair), and the Health and Family Services Committee. In previous terms, he has also served on the Economic Development & Workforce Investment committee.

Riley’s goal as a representative is to improve the business environment in Kentucky. He is particularly focused on creating better in-state job opportunities for young Kentuckians as they start to make a living and raise a family.
