Tony Hampton is a dedicated public servant who has been making significant contributions to his community for many years. Born on August 13, 1971, Hampton has spent his life in Georgetown, Kentucky. He is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves as a representative for the 62nd district in the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Hampton’s career in public service began in law enforcement. He graduated from the Department of Criminal Justice in 1995 and went on to serve as the sheriff of Scott County for 14 years. During his tenure as sheriff, he was known for his commitment to public safety and his efforts to build strong relationships with the community. He was elected sheriff in 2010, defeating the Democratic incumbent Bobby Hammons, and was subsequently re-elected in 2014, 2018, and 2022. Hampton retired as sheriff on October 1, 2024, to pursue a seat in the Kentucky House of Representatives.

In the 2024 general election, Hampton ran for the Kentucky House of Representatives to represent District 62. He won the election with 66.4% of the vote, defeating Democratic candidate Kevin Kidwell. Hampton’s victory was a testament to his popularity and the trust that the community placed in him. He assumed office on January 1, 2025, and his current term will end on January 1, 2027.

As a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, Hampton serves on several committees, including the Licensing, Occupations, & Administrative Regulations Committee, the Local Government Committee, and the Banking & Insurance Committee. He is also a member of the New Member Caucus and the Kentucky History Caucus.
