Barbara Reich Freiberg is a retired educator and politician serving as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from the 70th district since 2019. She is a member of the Republican Party.

Education: Freiberg earned her B.A. in English and art education from Louisiana Tech University. She later received her M.A. in English from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

Career: Before her political career, Freiberg was an educator. In 2010, she was elected as a member of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board for District 7. She was re-elected in 2014. She served in this position until her election to the Metro Council in Baton Rouge on December 10, 2016, where she represented District 12.

In 2020, Freiberg assumed office as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives, representing District 70. She ran for re-election and won in the general election on November 18, 2023. Her current term ends on January 10, 2028.
