Daryl Andrew Deshotel is an American politician and businessman serving as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from the 28th district. He was elected in November 2019 and assumed office on January 13, 2020.

Deshotel was born in Avoyelles Parish and raised in Hessmer, Louisiana. As a fourth-generation Avoyelles native, Daryl grew up working in the sweet potato fields on his uncle’s farm. He knows what it means to work hard for a living. After graduating from Bunkie High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in construction management from Louisiana State University.

During his time at LSU, Daryl took on a job at a computer company. There, he became fascinated and learned how to assemble and program computers. While still in college full-time, he traveled the state selling computers and computer equipment to schools. Recognizing the future of technology, he started his own business, Detel Computer Solutions. As an entrepreneur, Daryl has created jobs and opportunity all across the state.

The family are active members of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where Daryl is an usher, Eucharistic minister, and lector. Adding to his community involvement, Daryl is a member of the Hessmer Knights of Columbus and a member of the Marksville, Simmesport, Mansura, and Bunkie Chambers of Commerce. He has also coached baseball teams from tee-ball to the high school level.
