Representative Jacob Braud
Jacob Braud Freeman is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from the 105th district. He is a member of the Republican Party and represents parts of Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish, and Plaquemines Parish. He has been in office since January 8, 2024.
Jacob was born and raised in Louisiana. He earned a B.A. in mass communications from Louisiana State University in 1999 and a J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2002. His career experience includes working as a judicial law clerk with Judge Robert Pitre of the 24th Judicial District in Jefferson Parish, associate attorney at Allen & Gooch, and attorney at Ballay, Braud, & Colon.
Jacob ran for election to the Louisiana House of Representatives to represent District 105 and won in the general election on November 18, 2023. He assumed office on January 8, 2024. His current term ends on January 10, 2028. He succeeded Mack Cormier and his tenure is expected to last until 2028.
