Troy Michael Hebert, born on April 19, 1966, is a dedicated community leader and politician from Jeanerette, Louisiana. He has served in various capacities in the Louisiana state government, showcasing his commitment to public service.

Hebert’s political career began in the Louisiana House of Representatives, where he represented the 49th district from January 8, 1996, to January 14, 2008. He succeeded Ted Haik and was followed by Simone B. Champagne in this role.

Following his tenure in the House of Representatives, Hebert served as a member of the Louisiana Senate from the 22nd district. He held this position from January 14, 2008, to November 24, 2010. He took over from Craig Romero and was succeeded by Fred Henry Mills, Jr.

In addition to his legislative roles, Hebert was appointed as the commissioner of the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) by Republican Governor Bobby Jindal. He served in this role until December 2015.

Hebert’s personal life is rooted in Louisiana. He was born and raised in Milton and now resides in Lafayette. He is a husband and father of two and an active member of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. His dedication to service extends beyond his political roles, as he is involved in various boards, civic groups, and church activities.

Professionally, Hebert has extensive experience in the real estate industry. He has served as a regional real estate broker and regional vice president of Latter & Blum, representing over 600 realtors across the state of Louisiana. As the husband of the Dealer/Operator of Arceneaux Ford, a 50-year-old family-run business, Hebert understands the importance of local businesses in strengthening the community.

Hebert’s community involvement is vast and diverse. He has served as the president of the Realtor Association of Acadiana, past board member of Louisiana Realtor Association, and president of the UL Alumni Association. As the chair of the University of Louisiana College of Business Advisory Board, he works to promote the growth and development of the region’s business landscape.

His philanthropic efforts include chairing or participating in fundraising events for organizations such as the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, UL Ragin Cajun Athletic Celebration, and St. Thomas More Athletic Foundation.

As of 2024, Hebert is the member-elect of the Louisiana House of Representatives from the 31st district, succeeding Jonathan Goudeau. His campaign focuses on economic development, education, infrastructure, and fixing rising insurance costs for homeowners.
