Representative Ambureen Rana

Ambureen Rana is a Democratic politician from Maine, who serves as the state representative for District 21. She assumed office on December 7, 2022. Her current term ends on December 4, 2024.

Rana is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Taxation and the Joint Select Committee on Housing. She is passionate about economic justice, health care reform, and rural development. She has a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Maine and a certificate in Leadership, Organizing and Action from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Rana grew up in Brewer, Maine, helping her parents run a small motel business. She has worked with LGBTQ+ people, people struggling with addiction, and low-income advocates in various roles. She currently serves as the Program Coordinator at the Maine Women’s Lobby Education Fund. She lives in Bangor, Maine, with her husband and three children.
