Amy J. Roeder, a multifaceted individual involved in politics, acting, and academia, currently serves as a member of the Maine House of Representatives from the 125th/23rd district. Elected in November 2020, she officially assumed her responsibilities on December 2, 2020.

Early Life and Education: Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and raised in New London, Minnesota, Roeder’s academic journey led her to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre from the University of Evansville and a Master of Fine Arts in theatre from the University of Georgia. Complementing her artistic background, she holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maine, where she now serves as an adjunct professor.

Career: Roeder is an active member of the Actors’ Equity Association and SAG-AFTRA. Her career spans various roles, including actor, writer, and instructor at Improv Asylum from 1998 to 2002, and later as a member of Gotham City Improv in 2003 and 2004. She continued to contribute to the field as an instructor at the Second City Training Center in 2013 and 2014. From 2014 to 2018, Roeder served as the director of education at the Penobscot Theatre Company, followed by her role as the executive director of the Criterion Theatre from 2018 to 2019. Her political journey began with her election to the Maine House of Representatives in November 2020, officially starting her term on December 2, 2020.

Personal Life: In her personal life, Amy J. Roeder is the proud mother of two adopted sons. She resides in Bangor, Maine, where she actively engages with her community and carries out her diverse responsibilities.
