About Representative Bruce White
Bruce White, a member of the Democratic Party, is currently serving his third term in the Maine House of Representatives, representing District 65. He was raised in Waterville, Maine, by a single mother along with his six siblings.
After working for 21 years at Scott Paper, he transitioned to a second career as a computer technician, supported by state and federal job training programs following the mill’s closure. He then worked for 20 years for the Winslow, China, and Vassalboro schools before retiring in 2019.
White is deeply committed to giving back to the Waterville community. He serves on the Waterville Planning Board and volunteers with several local organizations, including the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce, Northern Light Inland Hospital, Mid-Maine Technical Center, and the Alfond Youth and Community Center. He is a board member for New Dimensions Federal Credit Union and has also served as president of the United Paperworkers International Union Local 911.
In the Maine House of Representatives, he sits on the Transportation Committee and the Innovation, Development, Economic Advancement, and Business Committee. His current term began on December 7, 2022, and ends on December 4, 2024. He won the general election on November 8, 2022.
