Representative David Haggan
David Haggan is a Republican politician who serves as a member of the Maine House of Representatives, representing District 36, which covers Hampden and Newburgh. He was first elected in 2016 and is currently serving his fourth term. He is a member of the Judiciary Committee and the Joint Select Committee on Joint Rules.
Haggan was born in Bangor, Maine, and graduated from the University of Maine with a bachelor’s degree in social studies education in 1989. He is a middle school teacher and a former coach of basketball, soccer, and baseball. He is married to Jennifer Haggan, a nurse, and they have two children, Emily and Ethan.
Haggan is also a Shriner, a member of the NRA, and the Hampden Rifle and Pistol Club. He is an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is a strong advocate for the Second Amendment, veterans, seniors, and small businesses. He believes in limited government, fiscal responsibility, and personal freedom.
