Henry Ingwersen, born on January 4, 1951, is an American politician from Maine and a proud member of the Democratic Party. He currently serves as a Member of the Maine Senate, representing the 32nd district.

Sen. Henry Ingwersen is an experienced legislator, educator, small business owner, and devoted family man. He was a public school teacher for more than 25 years before retiring to work on his family farm in Arundel.

Sen. Ingwersen has a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern Maine. He was elected to the Maine House of Representative in 2018, serving Arundel, Dayton, and Lyman. As a member of the Education and Cultural Affairs Committee, he helped pass laws to raise teacher pay and increase the state’s share of K-12 public school funding.

Sen. Ingwersen and his wife Christine have been married for 47 years and are beekeepers on their family farm in Arundel. They have three daughters and ten grandchildren – all of whom live close by. Along with raising bees and selling honey, they also enjoy helping to raise their growing crop of grandkids.

Sen. Ingwersen is deeply committed to building community relationships to promote protection of our natural spaces and resources. He serves as president of the Arundel Conservation Trust and is a member of the Kennebunk River Remediation Advisory Committee for the Town of Arundel. He also serves on the board of Defend Our Health, a group working to ensure all people have access to safe food and drinking water.

Sen. Ingwersen is serving his first term in the Maine Senate, representing Arundel, Biddeford, Dayton, Hollis, and Lyman.
