Representative Margaret Craven Contact information

Margaret Craven, a member of the Democratic Party, represents District 93 in the Maine House of Representatives. She is currently serving her third consecutive term in the Maine House of Representatives, having previously served three terms in the Maine House and three in the Senate.

Born in the Republic of Ireland, Craven moved to the United States in 1963. She earned her high school diploma and then bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Southern Maine. Before retiring in 2005, she worked with disabled and senior citizens. She has lived in Lewiston for many years and has two grown children, Walter Matthew and T.J., and three grandsons, Finn, Declan, and Joseph.

Craven currently sits on the Health and Human Services Committee and has previously been a member of the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee. Her work involves a wide range of issues, including health and medical data, MaineCare, Medicaid, and Medicare Part D, children’s welfare and mental health services, public health and disease control, substance abuse, mental health, developmental and other disabilities, poverty, homelessness and public assistance, home and community-based long-term care, aging, elderly and disability issues, medical use of marijuana, maternal and infant health, and nursing facilities and residential care.
