Representative Poppy Arford
Poppy Arford, a member of the Democratic Party, represents District 101 in the Maine House of Representatives. She assumed office on December 7, 2022, and her current term ends on December 4, 2024. Prior to this, she held office in the Maine House of Representatives District 49.
Arford lives in Brunswick, Maine. She earned a B.A. in social work from the University of Southern Maine in 1981. Her career experience includes working as the program director of SHAREcenter, a Maine substance abuse counselor with Community Alcoholism Services, and a patient advocate. Arford has also volunteered as a mediator with the Maine Attorney General Consumer Mediation Service.
In the 2023-2024 term, Arford was assigned to the Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Services Committee. She ran for re-election to the Maine House of Representatives to represent District 101 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Arford grew up in Auburn, Maine, and is a graduate of the Maine-based Hanley Health Leadership Development program. Passionate about the Maine outdoors, Arford has previously served as an Outward Bound instructor leading wilderness expeditions. She has proudly called Brunswick her home for over 35 years with her husband, Loren. They have two adult children and a wonderful rescue pup named Happy.
