Representative Traci Gere

Traci Gere is a member of the Maine House of Representatives, representing District 134. She is affiliated with the Democratic Party and is serving her second term in the Maine Legislature. Traci Gere has a strong educational background, having graduated from Brown University and earned her MBA at Boston University.

Her career spans over 30 years in research and marketing in the high-tech and consumer goods industries. She has also owned a retail store focused on creativity, STEM education, and showcasing the work of many Maine makers. Gere is deeply committed to education, sustainable economic development, and community-building.

In her legislative role, she serves as House chair of the Joint Select Committee on Housing and is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Labor and Housing. These committees handle a variety of important issues, including labor laws, working conditions, unemployment compensation, workers’ compensation, labor relations, collective bargaining, retirement eligibility and benefits for state and municipal employees, housing authority, landlord-tenant laws, affordable housing, homelessness, housing safety, and building codes.

Gere’s dedication to her community is evident through her service on many RSU21 school board committees, where she has focused on physical plant, civil rights, and curriculum assessment. Her legislative work and community involvement reflect her commitment to making a positive impact in her district and the state of Maine.
