Representative Adrian Boafo
Adrian A. Boafo was born on May 10, 1994, in Arlington, Virginia. He has called Bowie, Maryland, his home for his entire life. He graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School in 2012 and later attended the University of Baltimore, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and Public Policy in 2016. During his undergraduate career, Adrian was an active student leader, serving as the university’s first African-American Student Government President. He was then appointed by the University System of Maryland Student Council to serve as the Vice President of Undergraduate Affairs, advocating on behalf of students enrolled in all 12 of Maryland’s public institutions.
In 2019, Adrian received his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) at American University’s Kogod School of Business. Adrian has spent his professional career working for Members of the United States House of Representatives. He began his service with the House Democratic Caucus as a press intern under the leadership of then-Representative Xavier Becerra (CA-34) and later joined the office of Congressman Ruben Kihuen (NV-04) working as a National Press Assistant. For three years, Adrian worked as Campaign Manager of Hoyer for Congress, the Maryland political organization and campaign representing Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD-05). Currently, Adrian is the Senior Director of Government Affairs at Oracle Corporation.
Adrian was elected in 2019 and served as the Mayor Pro Tem and District 3 Councilmember for the City of Bowie from 2019 to 2022. He is now a member of the Maryland House of Delegates for District 23 in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He assumed office on January 11, 2023. Adrian believes that all families in District 23 ought to have a strong advocate in Annapolis. He believes that there is so much more we can do to create new jobs, protect our environment, re-imagine public safety, and increase health equity throughout Maryland.
