Pamela E. Queen, Ph.D., is a Democrat representing District 14, Montgomery County in the Maryland House of Delegates. She has been a member of the House of Delegates since February 26, 2016. Her office is located at the Lowe House Office Building, Room 427, 6 Bladen St., Annapolis, MD 21401.

Pamela E. Queen, Ph.D., is a Democrat representing District 14, Montgomery County in the Maryland House of Delegates. She has been a member of the House of Delegates since February 26, 2016. Her office is located at the Lowe House Office Building, Room 427, 6 Bladen St., Annapolis, MD 21401.

She is a member of the Economic Matters Committee since 2019, where she serves on the business regulation subcommittee and the public utilities subcommittee. She has been the chair of the banking, consumer protection & commercial law subcommittee since 2020 and is part of the joint electric universal service program work group since 2020. She was also a member of the Judiciary Committee from 2016 to 2018, where she served on the criminal justice subcommittee.

Delegate Queen is the Vice-Chair of the Metro Washington Area Committee, Montgomery County Delegation since 2017. She is a member of the Legislative Black Caucus of Maryland since 2016, where she served as the financial secretary from 2016 to 2018 and as the treasurer from 2018 to 2019. She is also a member of the Women Legislators of Maryland and the Maryland Legislative Latino Caucus since 2021.

Born in New York City in 1960, Delegate Queen attended Tuskegee University, where she earned a B.S. in mathematics in 1983. She later earned two master’s degrees from The Johns Hopkins University in computer science and management. She also holds a Ph.D. in finance from George Washington University, which she earned in 2010.

Since 2010, she has been working as an assistant professor of accounting & finance at Morgan State University. She is a member of several professional organizations including the Western Finance Association, the American Accounting Association, the Financial Management Association, the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education, and Women in Maryland Higher Education.

Delegate Queen has been a member of the Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee from 2010 to 2016. She is also a member of the District 14 Democratic Club, the African-American Democratic Club of Montgomery County, and the Women’s Democratic Club of Montgomery County.

In addition to her political and professional affiliations, Delegate Queen is also a member of several community organizations. These include the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, the Patuxent River Chapter of The Links, Inc., the Montgomery County Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc., and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). She is also a member of the Xi Sigma Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
